By My Side Around Distractions

Time to increase the distractions!

Remember that we always increase the level of distractions over time and take the dog’s “feedback” into account.

If your dog has been doing well with By My Side in one location, but is really struggling with it in a different place:
That’s a good sign that the difficulty of the environment was increased too much, too fast.

We always want to provide training situations in which our dog can rehearse being good and doing the right thing.
That means that we as trainers have the responsibility to set up training situations in which our dog can succeed.
